One of the most fun ways to get a peek into another person’s life is to experience their city like a local would -- with a homebase in a their space. LifeSwap takes the fun of living how a stranger does one step further. We’ve teamed up with AirBnB to give you a taste of what it’s like to step into someone else’s shoes. We can safely say that this is the best giveaway of any SXSW party around.

Final Farewell

Day 4 is about the word on every marketer’s mouth. Everyone’s focusing on it, but it’s not a focused word. What does it mean exactly? Why does it matter? And how do we do it right? Attend small group workshops about mobile ads, mobile responsive site and mobile app development. Learn about the rapid rise of mobile browsing (and what that means to us) in our interactive globe installation. And hear from Ruth McCarthy, Founder of Mobili Media, about how to get caught up -- and then get ahead.

Third Avenue Launches Hate Has No Business Here Campaign

The Third Avenue Business Improvement District in partnership with 21 business improvement districts throughout New York City and the New York City Commission on Human Rights is humbled to kick-off the Hate Has No Business Here Campaign.  The campaign, being rolled out during the 1 Bronx Festival and in coordination with the celebration of American independence has a simple message: to inspire a conversation to combat narratives that purport racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and misogyny, especially as they impact our City’s small business community.

The roll out of this campaign during the 1 Bronx Festival is fitting, as the Festival promotes inclusion, community, and dialogue and works toward a future without discrimination where all people have equal rights under the law. We do this by producing events that inspire, educate, and celebrate our diverse Bronx community.

As part of the campaign, the Third Avenue Business Improvement District is providing free cultural competency workshops to merchants, property owners, and community leaders throughout 2017-2018. The campaign logo features an American flag with a heart replacing the stars, designed to express the idea that love, kindness and acceptance are patriotic.

About the Bronx LGBTQ Center

R.

Destination Tomorrow is a transgender-led grassroots community-based agency dedicated to serving the LGBTQIA+ folks local to the Bronx borough. An established champion for public HIV/AIDS awareness for transmasculine communities of color, founder and executive director Sean Coleman launched Destination Tomorrow in its current iteration in response to the imminent gap in accessible and affirming services aimed at LGBTQ youth that would have otherwise been left after Bronx Pride closed its doors. Today, armed with a focus on employment and educational empowerment cultivated by lifelong immersion in ethnic New York City communities, Destination Tomorrow's serves Bronx LGBTQ youth, adults and elders by offering expansive in-house programming (inclusive support groups, T.A.S.C. GED prep classes and the recent launch of Job Readiness the Right Way program) and connecting our folks to referral-based off-site medical and social services.

About the bronx lgbtq caucus

R. Harrison

,The Bronx LGBTQ Caucus, a group of 20 + leading Bronx LGBTQ service providers and advocates,  have independently implemented wrap around services to address workforce development, bullying, educational and vocational training, arts and cultural equity, housing, and economic development capacity building.  We have developed innovative solutions for our diverse Bronx LGBTQ population throughout the lifespan as we seek to:

• work to end homophobia and transphobia,

• provide a home, safe space, and holistic service model for the Bronx LGBTQ community,

• and to advocate for equity.
